Welcome to our journey!

I'm Krista. He's Kevin. And we love (LOVE!) Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives on Food Network. From this point forward, we're going to refer to it as Triple D. Kevin really likes to call it that.

A couple weeks ago, Kevin and I made it a mission to hit all the Diners, Drive-Ins and...excuse me... Triple D spots in Northern California and Reno.

Since we started visiting some of the locations, I decided we should start a blog. A blog where we can post the places we visit, what we ate and what we thought. We like to think we're food critics.

We've already visit a handful of joints on Guy's road trip so we'll have to catch you up through our postings. Here's one now...

While on a weekend vacation in Sonoma, CA, we wanted to hit up this joint we'd heard of on Triple D. Actually, we nearly passed it seeing as how its literally on the corner and GPS told us to turn right; not left into the parking lot. After a U-turn, we spotted the sign on the side of the building welcoming us in to enjoy a tasty meal. It was a nice day out, warm with a slight breeze, so we decided to dine alfresco. They even had a cute little three piece band playing on the patio.

The show featured a vegetable lasagna, a sandwich called the Buckaroo and one called Hot Matty's Smoked Tri Tip Sandy. We went with the intention of have the vegetable lasagna (for Kevin) and the BLT (for me) but we think they're only on the dinner menu because they weren't available for lunch.

So Kevin had the Buckaroo and I had the Grande Cheeseburger. Both, were quite good. The Buckaroo, according to Kevin, was flavorful and delicious. He loves a good spicy sandwich and it lived up to his expectations. My cheeseburger was like a summer bar-b-que in every bite.

We even had room for dessert. Well, we didn't have room but when in Rome... The Apricot Berry Cobbler was WOW! Tart, tangy and sweet are the adjectives Kevin uses to describe the cobblers myriad of flavors. And the crust was crunchy, chewy delicious. When he reflects back at it, all he can say is "Ahhhhh".

Apricot Berry Cobbler. Ahhhhh...
